Designed for the wall.
Built for the work.

“One of ARIA’s biggest challenges was keeping the outlet slim while making it easier to fit. Electricians loved Shadowline’s slim profile, but the plastic screw housings extended into the wall. That meant extra cutting, especially through tiles and glass.

With ARIA, we covered the screws with hinged caps and reinforced the outlet with stainless steel. But strength alone wasn’t enough. Too stiff, and the corners would lift as the screws tightened. The reinforcement needed just enough flex to let the outlet sit flat.

We put a lot of work into getting that balance just right, so electricians could have the slim finish without the extra cutting.”

A smaller junction.
A better place to work.

“With Ultra Link, we needed room for four 2.5mm² cables in a junction that could pass through a 32mm cut-out. The hinge still had to be strong, and electricians needed to be able to tighten the terminals properly. We worked through several hinge designs and used grub screws to keep everything within the compact body.

Partway through development, Prime Electrical told us about small sensors in stairwells. They needed to connect several cables, but the sensor terminals were tiny and a normal junction box wouldn’t fit through the cut-out.

So we added a sensor version to the project, with a terminal for the switched connection. Electricians could make the junction in the room, then pass it through the cut-out.”

A switchboard
designed as one.

“One thing we wanted to simplify with ARMA was choosing the right busbar. With Uniline, different devices and pole configurations needed different bars. Electricians had to keep track of what matched before they could start building.

ARMA uses a common busbar design across single- and three-pole configurations, with pin or fork versions and variants to suit the main-switch layout. The devices share the same clip system too. They click onto the rail, and an individual device can be removed without disturbing the rest of the row.

That means fewer bars to carry and less time working out what goes with what. More of the electrician’s time goes to paid time on site.”

Made for night.
Designed for day.

“With ORIN, we had the opportunity to design the light around the installation from the start. Fitting sensor lights is something electricians find frustrating, so we looked closely at how the cable comes in, where the terminals sit and how the light goes together.

We gave ORIN a larger back box, a central cable entry and large terminals at the top, so there’s room to feed the cables in and wire them. Then the front pushes onto the base using pins to make the final connection.

That means more room for the wiring and a simpler final fit-off. Every part of the installation got the same attention.”

One twist. Minutes back.

“The challenge was making a quick connection electricians could trust. We were not the first to try piercing cable insulation, but electricians told us they’d lost confidence after unreliable connections with other products.

We worked through simulations and prototypes, then tested hundreds of connections once the tooling was complete. We also took the product out on site, put it in electricians’ hands and listened to their feedback. It had to be simple to use and reliable in practice.

That work means electricians can spend less time connecting each downlight and feel confident in what they leave above the ceiling.”
